From 28 september 2018 to 02 april 2020

Champs-Elysées or Saint-Germain-des-près ?

You want to visit Paris, but you can't decide between the Champs Elysées or Saint-Germain des Prés...

So we'd like to give you a little tour to help you choose the right neighbourhood!

Let's start with the lively district of Saint Germain.

Saint Germain des Prés is famous for its narrow streets lined with quirky bookshops and antique shops that sell stunning works of art. It feels like a village, especially if you're having a drink on the terrace of 2 Magots or the Société, both of which face the magnificent medieval Abbey of Saint Germain des Prés.

An iconic French literature hub where creative minds would meet up and discuss life over a drink or two.

If you enjoy shopping, the 24 Sèvres and boutiques that line avenue de Rennes will keep you busy for a while!

The prestigious Champs Elysées area offers a very different view of Paris.

This neighbourhood is synonymous with success, culture, luxury and French romanticism.

The Avenue des Champs Elysées and its Arc de Triomphe are two of France's most famous landmarks. Quintessentially Parisian, this area is home to numerous festivities (Bastille Day, the Tour de France, New Year's Day in Paris).

Fashion-lovers should head to avenue Montaigne (Chanel), lined with luxury boutiques (Hermès, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton)  that make up the golden triangle.

Another advantage of the 8th Arrondissement is its close access to Paris's artistic core (less than 15 minutes walk). Paris's biggest museums and legendary monuments are a mere stone's throw away:

The Champs Elysées district also has a large selection of hotels. From bourgeois to boutique, accommodation-wise you'll be spoilt for choice.

The Hotel Elysées Mermoz, is one of Paris's finest and remains at the top of our list. Located near the Champs Elysées, this charming 4-star hotel has an impressive number of regular guests - around 40% in all.

So now that you have some pointers, you'll be able to enjoy the City of Lights at your leisure!
