From Abstract painting to Abstraction
Founded in 1954 by Jean Fournier (1922-2006), the Fournier gallery has defended for many years, American artists who came living in France during the fifties, we think of Sam Francis, James Bishop and Joan Mitchell. Today, devoted to abstract paint and different languages of abstraction, it presents painters and sculptors as American as French (Frédérique Lucien, Pierre Mabille, Nathalie Elemento…).
But, it doesn’t represent experienced artists only, this art space is also involved with young artists came from emerging contemporary scene, such as Nicolas Guiet ou d’Elizabeth Cooper. And now, every exhibition is accompanied by a catalog, and they ask to an art critic writing a text. These books help and dynamize diffusion of works of these artists, first, to the public, then to an audience of amateurs and professionals.
Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and from 2pm to 7pm.
